Finding Us
See the map here on the web site, post code EX13 5ST. We are on "Raymonds Hill" the same side of the road as the Hunters Lodge Inn. There are 2 bollards in the middle of the road very near our entrance. When you see the road sign "Raymonds Hill" start looking for us.
Goodlands is almost opposite the Perry Marine Boating Centre. We are on the same side of the road as the The Hunters Lodge Inn and very near the Bus Stop with shelter, behind a large hedge with a wide entrance gate open for your arrival and bright yellow sign also put out on verge for your arrival saying "Goodlands".
Please phone us 15 - 20 minutes before arrival so we can put our bright yellow sign on the verge. All our phone numbers are sent with confirmation e mail, including our mobile.
Arrival 3pm onwards
We greet you personally at Goodlands and show you around answering any questions you may have.
If you arrive early and coming from the A303 turn off at Crewkerne for a light lunch or try a cream tea, with pets for children to see and gardens, at "Lucys Tea Room" at "Oathill Farm" TA18 8PZ (01460 30234) on the B3165 past Crewkerne and just past the village of Clapton.
Try lunch at the nearby Hunters Lodge Inn (01297 33286) just moments from Goodlands on the A35 or lunch at The Old Inn at Kilmington 3 minutes drive away.

Departure 10am
We like to say goodbye to you in person at 10am. Let us know if you wish to depart earlier. We ask that crockery, games and furniture are put back in their place please.
Taxis & transport to River Cottage:
Taxi numbers are at Goodlands in our Visitor Information Book.
For River Cottage HQ evening events we recommend Floyds (who has a minibus ) on 01297 560733. Please book in advance. For Axminster Canteen we recommend any Axminster taxi (numbers below).
Note: For those walking the 1 mile to the HQ, note road is unlit and only small part has pavement and it crosses open heath - wear a luminous jacket & use our torch. 3 minutes drive to River Cottage HQ.
General Taxi numbers, Train Station & Bus
Axminster Railway Station is approximately 2 miles away with No.31 bus stop outside of Goodlands. Train journey approximately 2.45 hours from Waterloo and 40 minutes from Exeter.
Bus stop, Number 31, near by - direct link to Train Station and Lyme Regis via Goodlands. 5% discount for those arriving using public transport who present tickets on arrival. Promo Code "Green".
There is no taxi rank at Axminster Station. Taxis should be booked in advance. Paynes: 01297 35895, Axminster Taxis: 01297 34000.
Tesco’s & Waitrose Online Delivery
If you already hold a Tesco’s or Waitrose On Line Account they can deliver to Goodlands. We suggest you arrange for your delivery the morning after your arrival to ensure you are there to collect it.
Post Office & Millers Farm Shop
Post Office within walking distance. Sells papers, milk, bread etc. Open 8am – 5pm. Closes 1 – 2pm. The superb Millers Farm Shop is just minutes away for local meats, veg and produce.
Hunters Lodge Inn
Two minutes walk along the pavement. Opens Lunchtime and again at 6pm. Serves food till 9pm. Tel: 01297 33286.

Welcome basket
Weekly lets receive a welcome gift of fresh flowers, fruit bowl and bottle of Lyme Bay wine and basket with Clipper tea, coffee, hot chocolate refreshments, fresh milk, juice, local Moore's biscuits, a dozen farm fresh eggs & boxes of 40g cereals.
Short breaks receive welcome Clipper refreshments, biscuits and fresh milk.
Children receive a special welcome gift.
Starter Pack for all visits
1 loo roll per loo, dish cloths, tea towels, 2 Ecover dish washer and washing machine tables, 1 kitchen roll, Bio washing up liquid, some hob bright & power spray, some condiments - assorted spice rack, salt, pepper, vinegar, sugar, foil, cling film. Liquid hand soap, hand cream, bubble bath and selection of toiletries in each bathroom.
Children
We can provide on request: High Chair, potty, Tomy baby monitor, change mat, night lights and 2 large plastic mat/covers for the floor or field. Cot 120cm x 60cm provided on request, but bring your own cot mattress and cot bedding. Toddler drinking cup and plastic plate and knife & fork in kitchen. Lots of plastic and melamite plates and bowls for picnics and children to use.
Seniors and Disabled NAS M1
Goodlands and its garden is ideal for seniors or those with restricted mobility being all on one level. We are NAS M1 accredited (National Accessibility Scheme) 1 entrance step in - bring a ramp for wheel chairs.
Family bath & separate loo have fitted grip rails. We have several "portable" specialist grabs for showers and basins which can be used if you need them but are not permanent fixtures. Blue Bedroom Ensuite has shower (9"/23cm step in to shower but portable specialist spa bath mobility step platform with safety floor grips available for shower or bath), plastic shower chair/stool, alarm bell & swing bin. Bath/shower mats provided. You are welcome to use our folding wheel chair.

Laundry Room
Washer, drier, airing rack, ironing board, iron, picnic box with ice blocks, picnic blanket, rucksack, brushes, mops, etc.
Safety & First Aid Kit
Main gate can be closed & secured when children are on the property. The two fields are for you to enjoy. In winter sheep may be grazing. A torch is provided in the kitchen. There is a fully stocked First Aid Kit at the property and list of nearby medical assistance.
Property and parking well lit with sensor lights. Alarm must be set when property empty.
Fire Safety
We have made every effort to adhere to the current legislation which includes interlinked smoke & heat alarms, carbon monoxide detector, extinguishers & kitchen fire blanket.
All electrical appliances are PAT tested. Child Safe Clipped Fire Guard for Open Fire and torch are provided.
Access Statement
“Goodlands” is on one level throught. Entrance has a small step and door lip in to the front door and in to the laundry room. There are several steps at the rear door leading to a small patio and in to the garden. Goodlands is level ground floor accommodation. Real oak flooring through all public areas of the property so please do not wear sharp pointed stiletto heels. Axminster carpet in bedrooms. Level outside parking area, no steps. Level garden. Rubbish
Please bag up rubbish and place in bins provided. Recycling box provided for papers, tins, glass & plastic (not cardboard). We have private rubbish contractors.
Wi Fi, local information & board games
Complimentary Wi Fi for e mails and surfing net with good reception. Regret no downloads of films, games and music as limited Broadband. Games box with board games, books for all ages, cards, Family viewing DVDs, ipod docks, 3 TVs with DVD players and ipod docks, CDs & CD/Radio are all for you to enjoy.
Lots of local information, maps, leaflets and menus from local restaurants and pubs with concise information book.
Beds, Linen and Towels
All beds made on arrival in the bed combination suitable for your party. The two King beds can be Twins and one Double bed. All linen, set of 5 towels colour coded per person, bath mats, hand towels, tea towels are provided. (Beach towels not provided). Mid week towel change upon request for weekly bookings. All beds have a luxurious feather topper. Please notify us on booking form if you require non feather bedding or waterproof matress protectors at least a week before arrival.
Utilities, Central Heating & Open Fire
Seasonal Central Heating included in the tariff. 24/7 Central Heating small optional charge which you can request on arrival. Free standing heaters and open fire at the property with ample coal and starter pack of kindling, matches and fire lights all included. More kindling and BBQ charcoal can be purchased from local garages. Utilities water & electric included in the tariff.
Cyclists & Walkers
Outside water tap, boot and clothes drying area, laundry room with tumble drier, picnic box, picnic blanket, OS maps, walking books, rucksack, countryside code, puncture repair kit, first aid kit and numbers for taxis and online shopping delivery all available at Goodlands.
Smokers
No smoking inside property. Butt pot and sheltered area at rear patio.
Garden, Meadows & BBQ
Garden furniture with parasols, BBQ with utensils, some charcoal all provided. Picnic cool box, ice blocks,blanket & ruck sack. Gardens, childrens fenced paddock area and meadows to roam. The gardener cuts the grass once a fortnight at approx 2pm on either a Wednesday or Thursday.
Emergencies
A torch, mobile phone and emergency numbers can be found at the property. A member of staff is available to visit you 24/7 if needed and all our contact numbers are provided.
Alarm
Please set alarm when the property is empty - this a condition of your stay. Demonstration given on arrival.
Queries & Contact
There is an Information Book, Visitor Information & Full Inventory at the Property. Personal greeting on arrival to answer any queries and show you around.
We live near enough to be handy to be called out in minutes if we are needed to rectify any problem no matter how big or how small - otherwise we don't intrude on your holiday at all and you won't see us until departure when we come collect the keys and say goodbye.
