INCLUDED IN THE PRICE: Open fire with start bag of coal, kindling and several stand alone electric heaters. Seasonal central heating included in price and optional 24/7 small extra charge, ask on booking. (Extra kindling and charcoal for the BBQ can be purchased from nearby garages though generous amounts provided).
Weekly Lets receive Welcome Gifts (fruit, flowers, wine) & Basket of locally sourced produce (dozen free range eggs, local biscuits, juice, cereals, milk, Clipper refreshments) & Starter pack (starter pack: washing up liquid, 2 dish washing tabs, 2 laundry tabs, cloths, 2 bin bags, 1 kitchen roll, 1loo roll per loo)
Short Breaks receive complimentary refreshments with fresh milk on arrival & Starter pack.
We always put in a small gift for visiting children.
BOOKINGS TAKEN ONLINE OR BY PHONE: No booking fee, no agency fee. DEBIT CARDS NO SURCHARGE.
Please note that by making a booking either online or by phone by making your payment/s you are entering into a contractual agreement and are liable for the full payment of the holiday booked. We must have the names of everyone in the group and ages of those under 18 for our insurance purposes.
Optional 2.5% surcharge on credit cards. (We don't accept American Express). Debit cards no surcharge.
Seasonal Central Heating included in tariff with open fire and heaters. Optional 24hr Central heating can be purchased please ask at time of booking or on arrival (£5 per night).
Compulsory £100 Refundable BOND to cover breakages & damage. Payable with balance. Bond may be refunded after cleaning & property & wi fi usage has been checked, less any monies deducted for breakages, extra broadband use & damage – itemised list will be emailed.
HOLIDAY INSURANCE: is therefore recommended - www.insureandgo.com Tel: 0844 888 2787 is just one of many companies to choose from and relatively inexpensive. Please check it covers all eventualities i.e. snow (check your policy covers bad weather for car journeys, some only cover public transport) and for cancellation of your holiday. There are many insurance companies offering very competitive cover.
DEPOSIT: of 50%, or you can choose to pay in full, is taken on booking using Secure Server via the online booking form OR you can telephone us within 24 hours of making any provisional booking on 01297 32036 (9am - 7pm).
Provisional bookings will only be held for 24 hours and then released. No international BACS accepted. Card preferred please and we prefer not to accept cheques.
BALANCE with the £100 Refundable breakages Bond is due 6 weeks (42 days) before start of your holiday. Please phone us with card payment. We email an invoice with remaining balance before due date. However, the onus is on you to pay the balance in time within 6 weeks (42 days) of start of holiday. (If we don't hear from you in time we do try to contact you by phone but this must not be relied on by you in any way as a reminder). If the balance is not received within 6 weeks (42 days) of start date we reserve the right to treat the booking as a cancellation and no refund will be given. Bookings within 6 weeks of start date taken in full with the Bond.
DISCOUNT: For bookings where all guests in the booked party arrive & depart using public transport there is a 5% discount when quoting promo code "GREEN" on line or by phone and on presentation of your ticket/s on arrival please. If we are running other promotions only one promotion code may be used per booking.
WI FI & BROADBAND: There is free wi fi for e mails and surfing the internet. Please do not download games, films and large files and ensure your children are informed. Should you exceed our small broadband GB limit you will be charged at £10 for any additional use up to 5GB. The phone sockets are not permitted to be used please.
ARRIVAL TIME 3pm onwards. We cannot accommodate you or your luggage or any online delivery orders before 3pm on arrival day as we need until then to get the property immaculate for you. Please phone 15 minutes before you arrive at Goodlands and we will welcome you with the keys and show you around. Towns 15 minutes away are Bridport A35, Axminster A35/B358, Crewkerne B3165 and Chard B358. This gives us enough time to put out a bright yellow sign saying "Goodlands" and to be at the property to greet your arrival. Please add your MOBILE NUMBER to the booking form. Our mobile is on confirmation e mail.
DEPARTURE: Please, strictly on or before 10am when cleaners arrive. Please phone us 10 minutes before departure and we will come and collect keys and say goodbye in person. £20 per hour or part of for late departure fee past 10am. Hirer is responsible for any damage or loss to property & contents and these should be reported to us before departure please. Hirer responsible for putting away kitchen utensils, games, furniture etc and leaving property tidy and in good condition (as found) on departure.
CANCELLATION: If you cancel your holiday & the property Goodlands is relet (possibly at a discount) then a pro rata refund may given less £50 admin fee. Please take out holiday insurance to cover
ACCESS: NAS M1 Accreditation. Level ground floor accommodation with 2 steps to front door. Full Access information on request. Please ensure we are aware of and are able to provide and fulfil any specific and particular requests that you may have BEFORE you book Goodlands.
ACCIDENTS: We must be notified immediately if there is any accident or injury at all that occurrs on our premises.
GENERAL T&Cs & INFO:
Please ensure the ALARM is set when property vacant. Demonstration given on arrival.
Property sleeps maximum of 6 guests + 1 cot/baby at any time. Please notify us of any "day" visitors in advance with names of all in your group and ages if under 18 for our insurance purposes.
Maximum booking 4 weeks. Children Welcome. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate your pets.
Real oak flooring through much of the property - no sharp stiletto heels to be worn please. Candles with naked flames prohibited. Please keep entrance gate shut if children on property.
You are welcome to roam, picnic and play in the 2 meadows totalling 6 acres that are attached to the property. Please shut all gates. There is a water trough in the field which can been easily seen from the sitting room window and may have water in from time to time. There is a fenced off safe paddock directly in front of the sitting room window for smaller children to play in. In winter there may be sheep in the meadows.
Alarm should be used when property empty at any time and doors locked. Inside the property is non smoking. Evidence of smoking within the property will result in forfeit of whole Bond. Please remove any butts from outside property. Butt pot by back door.
Recycling box at property. We remove all rubbish from property on departure and have private contractors to assist with recycling rubbish.
Please note that if Twin bed option chosen then the Single beds are 2'6" and a cot (120cm x 60cm) Please bring own cot bedding & cot mattress.
Beds are made up for your arrival with towels. Beds have luxurious feather toppers.
Non feather bedding & waterproofs available upon request but please notify us at least 1 week before arrival. Also cot, high chair, change mat, potty available on request.
Adjustable shower chair/stool & fold up wheel chair available. There is a mobility shop in Chard Street Axminster “Courtesy Care” 01297 35985
Returning left goods (frequently things get left behind) £5 charge + P&P.
OWNER CANCELLATION: If the Owner of Goodlands has to cancel your holiday for reasons beyond her reasonable control i.e. "a force majeure" such as fire damage, then a full refund will be given but no further compensation may be claimed i.e. travel costs. Miss Raymond the Proprietor is not liable for any loss,damage, injury or theft to Hirer or their party or belongings whilst at Goodlands.
COMPLAINTS: must be made to Miss Raymond in person during the holiday so we can make every effort to rectify the problem. Complaints must be made by the Hirer (not by a third party, i.e. member of their group) and cannot be entertained after departure.
We welcome genuine REVIEWS on internet sites. However, we will not hesitate to take legal action should we find any malicious, untrue or libellous reviews about us or our property.
We live nearby and you will have our contact telephone numbers. We will endeavour to rectify and deal with any problems or queries you have in a courteous and helpful manner and are on call 24/7.
